This island, set in the Saint Lawrence River, is located between Long Island and Round Island, within the L’Isle-aux-Grues archipelago. The name first appeared on a 1928 map of Montmagny County. In the past, the inhabitants of Isle-aux-Grues allowed their horses to graze freely, hence the name Île du Cheval.
L’Île du Cheval
The Île du Cheval is the perfect haven of peace to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. On an island, time flows differently: it passes gently, according to the tides. You can enjoy the changing view of islets that emerge and disappear. Its panoramic view, stretching 360 degrees, allows you to witness stunning sunrises and sunsets.
